Cassava as animal feed in Ghana: past, present and future

Cassava is one of the major staple foods in Ghana, it is estimated that over 90% of the farming population cultivate cassava. It contributes to 22% of agricultural GPD. The study was commissioned by the FAO as part its initiative in supporting poverty reduction in northern Ghana. The program introduced improved varieties cassava for better yield. This has enhanced production and marketing of cassava in the country, improving income of all players along the cassava value chain
