This book is part of a series intended to describe the cultures and customs of various African countries, addressing a number of aspects which include religion, worldview, literature, media, art, housing, architecture, cuisine, traditional dress, gender, marriage, family, lifestyles, music and dance. “Culture” is left open to debate and definition. This volume on Ghana reads the ways culture and customs may be unique in Ghana, while placing their practice in larger global histories, local, regional and global political formations; and attending to internal differentiation.
