Drumming plays an important role in Ga culture. The (talking) drums are used to communicate. In the video Adjen Tetteh is playing the agogô and Affa Armah, the talking drum. The drum and the drum-language is passed on from generation to generation. Affa Armah learned the messages from his father. He passes this knowledge on by teaching the children in his neighbourhood.
The message Affa Armah is communicating with the talking drum is to tell the Asere people to get out of the sun and move into the shade.
